I love this! Especially this bit: “With so little to tether me to the ground, it’s become more critical than ever to carve out a safe place for myself. A place to learn how to write again, share what’s on my mind and what’s been inspiring me, overcome my creative impasses, and – hopefully, eventually – nurture something borne out of my words, and mine alone.”
I started my current substack out of a conversation with a friend too about how lost and out of touch we were sometimes— with society, with ourselves, that writing can be a form of spiritual gardening and letting our creativity grow.
D’oh thank you for the kind words 🥺 yes, 💯 agree on spiritual gardening… it sometimes feels like our minds have been calcified by so many expectations that our imagination doesn’t have the same flexibility as it did when we were kids. But plants will always find a way to break through the cement and grow, so i take comfort in that 😌
Can’t wait to read more of your work and hear your musings!
